In a major decision, all political rallies and protests have been restricted in the poll-bound state. Another major call was taken on the issue of schools. All anganwadi centres and schools up to Class XII would remain closed in the state till January 16 and only online classes will be held.

All swimming pools and water parks would remain closed during this period. Similarly, public events – educational, cultural and entertainment – have been banned. Cinema halls, shopping malls, spa, salons, gyms, entertainment park, theatres and auditorium would operate at 50 per cent capacity. Stadium and sports grounds, too, have been allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity.

For marriage ceremonies and funerals, permission would be given in accordance with the 50 per cent capacity of the venue. Hotels, restaurants and dhabas have been given permission to operate at 50 per cent capacity. Night curfew in the Himalayan state would continue from 10pm to 6am and the shops would remain open from 6am to 10pm. People of other states coming to Uttarakhand without being administered both doses of vaccine would be required to produce RTPCR negative report which should be of less than 72 hours at the time of arrival.
